It can be quite difficult to acquire one of Becca's handmade sculptures. The demand for them has always been higher than the amount she can reasonably make for a given batch. This is why we started making vinyl figures; to get more of Becca's creations into more hands. We are making some changes to Auctions sculptures in an effort to give more people a chance to own their first handmade sculpture.

Smaller sculptures have generally been available as a First Come, First Served website purchase or a Chance to Buy while larger sculptures were handled through auctions. The auction format is not serving the whole community as well as we hoped. So we are now shifting to a unified system for our rare items that gives everyone a more even and consistent experience.

Moving forward, larger sculptures will be moving to the CtB system with each sculpture having a set price. Smaller sculptures and puffs will still be a mix of First Come, First Served (larger batches) and CtB (smaller batches). Anybody who purchases a FcFS item will not be eligible for the related CtB.

Moving these sculptures into a CtB format gives everyone an equal opportunity, keeps the process more predictable, and removes the pressure of bidding.

Bad Luck Protection

Since larger sculptures will use the CtB system, they will also feature bad luck protection. If you'd like a more detailed breakdown of how the bad luck protection system works, please check out our previous blog here. Every bonus chance you gain from any sculpture CtB drop, regardless of size or price, contributes to your bad luck protection for all sculptures. Since sculpture drops can have multiple sculptures, the max number of bonus chances you can gain from missing out is one per sculpture drop.

Sculpture and Puff bonus chances are tracked separately. Bonus chances gained from puff CtBs will only apply to future puff CtBs. Bonus chances gained from sculpture CtBs will only apply to future sculpture CtBs.

At this time, only puffs and all sculptures will have their own separated bonus chances. One-off Rare item CtBs will not feature any bad luck protection. An example of this would be our Gingerbread Ornaments or Candy Corn Rats.

Price Expectations

Part of the reason we switched auction sculptures to the CtB system is to give them a more standardized price range so if you are saving for one of these handmades, now you'll have a better target to shoot for.

The size and complexity for Becca's sculptures will vary which means the price can vary but here are some examples of past sculptures to give you an idea of what to expect. All prices are in USD and are just to be taken as an approximate range.

Standard $200-$700

These tend to be smaller sculptures with a prop or the sleeping pose. Blind bag sculptures would likely fall into this range.

Deluxe $700-1200+

These tend to be bigger or more complex sculptures.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of what to expect but these are just rough price ranges and each sculpture can be different. We'd also like to mention that just like any purchase on our shop, you would have the option for pay over time through Sezzle or Shop Pay with these sculpture CtBs.

Introducing Semi-Custom Deluxe Sculptures

Along with these changes, we are adding something new for the higher end collectors! A Semi-Custom Deluxe Sculpture will be a set sculpture design with a few customizable options. An example of this could be a mosaic dragon where you could choose the base color, accent color, or gem colors. You will also have the option to pick one of those and let Becca decide what would go best with your choice. The number of customizable options will vary for each Semi-Custom Deluxe Sculpture. These pieces allow Becca to create more unique sculptures without the full workload of traditional commissions.

Due to their customizable options, these will be priced higher ($1200+) than the deluxe sculptures examples. Look for our first Semi-Custom Deluxe Sculpture in October.
